Text Box: 2004   The band was formed in 2004 by our current chairman, Robert Doyle. Everyone worked extremely hard at this time to get things up and running. We managed to gain funding for the uniforms with support from the Awards For All National Lottery Group, Voluntary Action For Manchester, Oldham And Failsworth Committee and the Community Foundation. In December 2004 we registered with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association which allows us to participate in competition.   2005   The 13th of March 2005 saw us step out for the first time for the St. Patrick's Day parade in Manchester. A great big thank you to Scott, Marlene and Tina without who's help it would not have been possible   We participated in many carnivals and parades during the course of the and also took part in three competitions one of which being the World Championships at Glasgow Green which was an excellent experience and a guide as to the areas most needed for improvement. Given that we started with nothing in 2004 this was a remarkable achievement and is a great testament to the bands dedication and to the team spirit within it.   2006   In early 2006 under the leadership of a new Pipe Major we managed to achieve 3rd place in our first competition and continued through the year gaining more experience and confidence  as the year progressed. We still had a busy year with carnivals and parades throughout the northwest region helping us continue to finance uniforms and instruments. A grant from the community foundation provided funds to purchase Four brand new sets of pipes specifically aimed at our younger members.   2007   The band had a very mixed year in 2007 having entered fewer competitions but kept ourselves busy still with carnivals and parades throughout the north west. We did manage to recruit some more new members this year and we are all working hard and looking forward to competing again in the 2008 season.   2008 ?   With the 2008 season looming and the competition season approaching we are looking forward to a hopefully very fruitful season……… If you would like to be a part of it we would love to hear from you.
